OK... but the wire wont be lower as it is fixed now. The wire in the pics below is the wall facing each other. They were leveled on equal height but the beam on one wall makes it seem a little above. But i think you guys are absolutely right that up and down lights wont look good there. I think you are right about down lights lessismoore. Would it look good if i go with two different lights on opposite walls??? it would look odd right.

Why don't you look for a hutch at a consignment furniture shop. Plenty of people that have had hutches are now getting rid of them in favor of a buffet. Then you can see the quality of wood that has already stood the test of time. Wood is far less likely to warp or stain than the fake man-made products that so many of the furniture companies are putting out now. EA, PB, etc.

I like what you did on the previous TV wall, a lot. Now I suggest, let that be the only piece of bright colour in your space, and pull designs for cushions from there. I suggest colour rest of the walls (+Doors on the side facing the room) in a neutral, warm white, matte finish color. The wall behind the blue sofa, is it tile? Can it be coloured over? Also, are you in a rented space or is it your own house? That would help understand if you can make semi permanent changes.
