Most my doors were already here, but I did have one moved over, about 6 inches. However, the entire space was demo'd, and rebuilt, so that's not the best example to draw from. If you want the door hidden, in a pocket, yes, you will need a skilled carpenter. Essentially, the opening header and frame, will become twice it's size, with the "pocket" part, hidden behind the wall. The studs/supports will need to be removed to make a space for the door to slide into. Do you have any switches or outlets on the fireplace wall?

the design looks great . According to me one side of windows can be used as bed wall . we can have blackout curtains or blackout window blinds . You can even play with drapery to define the area behind bed. We already have seating in the room so next we can do is give a console/ study table with an puffe / chair to it. also one can add a bench at the end of bed. Size you can check on your Autocad . Bed wall should be the focus when one enters the room, so I feel the bed should be placed like this . Dimensions of furniture and circulation space you can work on. Also WC should be on the washbasin side to avoid Future leakages and dampness in bedroom wall. all the best

Hello Gopa, You can do a partition with plywood on wooden frame. Go for a door with hinges as there is no benefit of a sliding door in terms of light . What is your intent for having a openable vs sliding door. Please be aware that after making an additional room the living room will look dark and long/ narrow. You can have a transome on the door in case privacy is not much of an issue. You will however have to depend on artificial lighting in case a full partition is done. Sangita, There is another option, which involves some additional costs.It's called a transom window. It will make the door appear bigger and also offer ventilation . Usually, it is made in the same frame but it can also be added later on. Check with your designer if it she can add it now. Some images are attached for your reference.You can also add moldings to the final frame to increase the height visually. We wouldn't recommend you bringing the ceiling down using a false ceiling.
