i do like my high awning window in my shower. i'd be wary of glass block, you will show up as pink shapes still. depends how much privacy you really need (as in do you have neighbors)

if your house isnt brick, i'd do awning window in the top of your space and just bite the bullet and repair the inside and outside.

Thank you for the idea. I had not thought of this and that would fill the space as well as allow air flow. So, windows can withstand exposure to water from showering?

some can. consult your contractor and the window company. ours has to withstand hurricanes too as its near the coast. it's an andersen product, no idea what line it might be except that it satisfies the insurance company for the hurricane thing.
