We solved the problem with a tall slim cabinet with drawers. the topmost drawer was removed to create a space for the set-top box and the video player. I added an acrylic door to keep out the dust. It was the simplest way to solve the problem. The drawers house the china very nicely. I did a similar thing in another house, only this was a glass fronted cabinet a little more than the width of the TV. The shelves were moved closer together to provide storage for cds and dvds. I always put glass shelves as they are easier to replace.

would the flat screen TV look fine in the corner? Most of the designs I saw were for a plain wall. in my living room, we have one main entrance and have acceas to the kitchen and a bedroom. this makes the palcement if furniture very tricky. Am attaching two panorama pictilures to make the idea clear. you can see that we have only one plakn wall. Our dining area is a part of the living area. Considering we need to have the dining table in the living room itself, is it better if the TV remains in the corner so that the sitting area, as it is now, is properly utilised? Any suggestions appreciated.
