Thank Patricia. I have tried a few light greys - we had 12 light grey samples for the living room. I think even a light grey will end up looking very drab. I'm thinking if I go with a grey it will have to have some lighter, brighter blue or green in it. I just found this picture online - it's not my house, but it's the same tile. I don't think I want this color in my bathroom, but it makes me wonder what other colors I am overlooking that might work with the tile.

Try finding the beige bathtub color on a paint chip card. Then try two or three of those colors on a foamcore board. BTW, the tile in the jpg of the outdoor kitchen looked quite different from the tile in your photos.

you need to buy yourself a fandeck, if you dont have one, it makes matching colors at home, in your own space, much more efficient.

your tile isnt looking successful with the lavender-blue grey you have now, i can't see that going further that direction will help. green might, its worth a try.

i'm thinking the tile in your other photo is another colorway of your tile tho.

After reading your comments, you probably should consider something in the 'cream' family. You should choose a cream with a gray undertone that will pull everything together. You'll get there! (Buying a paint fan is a great idea.)

Since you already tried light grays and thought it was dingy, then maybe pick up the warm tones in the tiles. The good thing about the tiles being multi-coloured, is that you can pick out a light colour in the tile, like a beigey tone and try that on the wall. if you choose a colour already in the tile, it will definitely work, and will go well with the warm brown of the wooden cabinets and it looks like you have brushed nickel sink faucets, which work great with warm colours. Its hard to tell by the pictures on the screen, but I would suggest getting paint chip samples of Benjamin Moore's Hush AF 95 (soft creamy colour), SHaker Beige HC 45, or try other beiges. This will lighten up the room and reflect nicely.

Thanks so much everyone! I really appreciate your ideas. I think looking into some beiges and creams are a great idea. I'm pretty sure those tiles in the outdoor kitchen are the same. They are listed as the same line and color and some of ours throughout the house look more like the ones in the picture. These tiles are extremely variable. We noticed when we bought them that one box looked quite different than the next. We did our best to mix them up. In any case, I think getting away from the greys and blues and greens might be the way to go.

One challenge you have is that you have both warm and cool tones with the mix of tile. You definitely don't want a cool gray . . warm grays are warmed with the yellow in greens that patricia recommends. test bm natures essentials http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/naturesessentials bm tapestry beige is another good option in this family of colors

Have you tried River Pewter? It tends to pick up the colors of the room (more gray or more tan)

I have Revere Pewter in a room and I also Florentine Plaster in my bedroom and Mountain Air in my kitchen. They are all grey/green colours by BM. However, if it was my choice, I would go with a very pale--almost white/grey. I think iwth the dark tiles and cabinet, the bathroom would look heavy but that is just my suggestion. Another suggestion is to take a tile from one of the lighter ones to the paint store and they will match a colour to it.
