Sorry, we have no info on the source for the stairs. The homeowner purchased them, not our company.

One possibility would be to swap the living room and the dining room. Since the current living room is larger than the current dining room you could still keep some comfortable seating (couch and upholstered chairs?) against the front wall for a keeping room/dining concept. Then your new dining areas (kitchen and dining room) and living areas (living and drawing room) would have good flow between them, which would work well both for family and entertaining. You could also add some builtin bookshelves in the drawing room or new living room to create a library area to add another fun element to the living areas. These bookshelves could be against the long walls in the drawing room, around the window with a window seat in the living room (former dining room), or built to create some separation in the open area between the drawing room and living room/stair area. Your plan seems to show some sort of builtin there, but I'm not sure what it is.

How do I redecorate this living room?

Love the armless sofa-bench! Try using it in the center as a "cross-linking" piece between the sofa and chairs. That way people can sit on both sides of it, conversing with the sofa people and the chair people. Put the chairs where it is and use the side table from the left of the pic, or the one with flowers, between them. You'll need one huge rug to anchor the space or two smaller, and very similar ones, to put on either side of the blue sofa-bench. The other two side tables are too tall and too short for your seating pieces, so ditch them. Use your coffee table between the sofa and armless sofa (18" away from each of them.) Here's a chart for judging table and lamp heights as you'll need to work on that for balance. Please try this arrangement, and post by commenting and using the Attach Images button to add pix of the update. We'll tweak it on out from there.

change the stairs part

hi Prinka, I would like to note down some problems you are having for this space and further ill give you solutions to make it better. I highly recommend to hire a designer to make these changes for you. 1. wall around the staircase 2. Railing change or refurbishment (think about how much you can spend) 3. Steps refurbishment (treads) 4. Lighting (most important) 5. false ceiling (area false ceiling) solutions 1. wall around the staircase Brighten up the space my luster or hi sheen paint or do a texture paint or put a wall paper. make sure do damp proof course to avoid any seepage of water. 2. Railing change or refurbishment (think about how much you can spend) changes the verticals (railing balusters) of railing to something simpler modern or designer as per your liking. or do a color change. find couple of examples of before and after railing pictures. You can even do a glass railing notice the color and contract added to railings and steps 3. Steps refurbishment (treads) i can see wooden stairs -do new polishing or change it to veneer or slab of solid wood -Burma teak /walnut. add details to it. refer picture below. 4. Lighting (most important) lighting it the most important here, as the space is dark and dull, you need to have surface lights, false ceiling lights above the landing area. picture lights to enhance your family pictures. 5. false ceiling (area false ceiling) do some false ceiling if height permits. simple will do, as less is always more. For doing all this, I highly recommend to hire a designer to make these changes on these points for you, the designer will take care of all the vendors needed for construction part to light changes, repair works & sourcing of materials. Sit back & relax, give 15 days of time to have a nice looking staircase & enjoy the space. cheers.

Help needed for below stairs space

Just because you want to use the space below the stairs, do not just add drawers or shelfs unless you reaalllyyy need it. I would suggest go for adding something green to your house. Its healthy by adding air purifying plants. These plants are nowadays available in most of the nurseries and moreover Green patch in the house gives a beautiful look to the house and is also good for eyes ( the green color). Below are few picture to motivate you for Green patch or Indoor garden.
