I like the ceiling. I think the hanging lights are too fancy and distract from the ceiling decor. A simpler light would look better or sticking with the canned lights you have. The walls have too many big, black things on them. It's hard to tell if they are windows with shade --- in which case I'd pick something lighter, perhaps to echo the ceiling, TVs (how many do you need?) or what. I'd consider a big piece of statement art in the place of at least one. If you're on a budget, get a large, high quality photo in the right colors, you can take it yourself. Sepia and black architectural might work. I like more color and more natural light. You may have closed the shades for a better picture, so it's hard to comment on the light, plus windows are a feature of your room, not exactly a decorator's choice. I would consider how to get a few small pops of color in, pillows, flowers, candles, maybe even a runner rug along the right wall. If you are doing this as part of a portfolio, the entire ensemble would look more welcoming with a few touches like someone lives there. Something on the coffee table, for example. A few books and a candle. A tray with tea things, a vase of flowers or basket of fruit. Pick one or two things and make it composed. You see this a lot in designer Houzz photos. Easiest is just to paint the walls. Stay away from purple and replace your bed spread. Here are some ideas using orange headboards: A light beige wall . Note that the bedspread uses the same colors as in the room ( so brown , beige, orange) or A fun paint job- brown and white stripes. Again, the bedspread uses the same colors ( white and brown). OR A brave color choice- orange and brown pair beautifully with a deep blue or aqua.

i own a 3 bhk flat it's under complete renovation so I wanted to know more about how to light up the house and create an ambience. I have used high gloss ivory shade tiles brand:kajaria. walls will be painted neuteral colors it would be beige or white(not yet decided).could you please tell me if warm light is good for residence and if yes then how much kelvins to be used on the light. I was looking for 4000k. is cob lights are good or panel lights,I personally like cob lights. your suggestion please.

New about to be furnished in new home, it is a 7.5x14 feet kitchen, with two windows one on east and one on south walls, so lightning issue isn’t there, the the counter is finished with a dark coloured granite. Planning for frosted / clear glass cabinets on top and opaque hard material on the lower cabinets. Confused if i should go with dark colours on the bottom or light colour or something in between. And the floors are having white tiles. Please suggest.
