need help to select curtains and carpet colour
Comments (50)There is contrast between the traditional furniture and the focal point of the floor which pops, draws attention. I would recover the sofas in cream colored soft fabric - suede. I would leave the curtains grey, and put down a large neutral area rug. The edges of the room would show the pattern of the floor. I would color the wall and add texture to it, but not too dark as the room will appear smaller. Add a picture and put a nice plant holder, large vase in the left corner of the room - an oriental-style vase. Or, a cream-stripe fabric on the sofas. You could go soft or bold in this room - depending on your taste....See MoreNeed help for building new home
Comments (5)Costs really vary in different areas and they are always changing . You would be best to talk to 3 local contractors who have good reputations and ask them what their building costs are. When you say "interiors" do you mean furniture? Or the interior finishes? The contractors will be able to give you the interior finishes numbers, but you can talk to a few local interior designers for estimates on furnishing a house. Also, ask the contractors about landscaping costs. Do you want a pool or an outdoor patio? Or just planting? Plus the building permit costs in your area. Check with the local building department. Some areas charge school fees.............. It would be great if you could factor in an architect to help you pull all of this together. Also this should be an architect who has great references and is known for working within budgets. Once again, you should ask 2 or 3 for proposals to see how they price their services. It can vary....See MoreNeed help on selecting tiles for bathroom both for floor and walls.
Comments (5)You can use natural stone like marble for floor but do not use granite for floor at all as it is very slippery when wet. As for tiles do not go for glazed vitrified tiles for the floor for the same reason. ( floor becomes slippery once wet and may cause mishap) Go for ceramic anti skid tiles that are specially meant for bathroom floor. For wall tiles you can use whatever you like and then decide over the matching anti skid floor tile/ marble. Double charged vitrified tiles are usually used for flooring in rest of the house....See MoreHow to utilize area under this staircase?
Comments (19)Hi, There are a number of ways in which the area under a staircase can be utilized. In case of a cramped house or space restrictions, this space can be used for providing storage, services or even a powder room as elaborated below : In case there are no space constraints and all the other areas are taken care of, the space below the stairs can be used for add ons such as a library, study, cellar or a minibar. In case there are any dogs in the house, this area serves as a spacious and compact kennel too : Apart from this, if the space is to be treated solely considering aesthetics, it can be livened up using a bit of indoor landscaping, sculptures and water body : Hope these ideas help. Do let us know what you decided to choose. All the best! Regards, RnD Atelier Nagpur...See Moresis3
