Need help on selecting tiles for bathroom both for floor and walls.

Looking for porcelain tiles. Confused with porcelain and natural stone which is better for bathroom? Which is better from following.. glazed vitrified tiles or double charge vitrified tiles or unglazed vitrified tiles or polished vitrified tiles or full body vitrified tiles or soluble salt vitrified tiles. Kindly help.

You can use natural stone like marble for floor but do not use granite for floor at all as it is very slippery when wet. As for tiles do not go for glazed vitrified tiles for the floor for the same reason. ( floor becomes slippery once wet and may cause mishap) Go for ceramic anti skid tiles that are specially meant for bathroom floor. For wall tiles you can use whatever you like and then decide over the matching anti skid floor tile/ marble. Double charged vitrified tiles are usually used for flooring in rest of the house.

There are lots of different choices of colour and pattern and you can probably find a remnant at a good price. You say you need something durable for the wall too? Do you mean the walls in the shower, around your bathtub, or the walls in the rest of the bathroom? I wouldn't put any water under there because of potential mould issues (in fact, there looks like there's a bit of mould already -- is there?). You could tile the bottom of it and put a strip of LED lights under the glass. What did you have in mind when you initially thought of the idea?

Bathroom floor tiles have their own specifications. If you go to a tile shop and ask for the same, you'll get it with all the required specs specially designed for bathrooms.

Following are my comments : 1.Buying cheaper branded sanitary fittings is only possible when you buy the same in bulk quantities. But I would like to highlight that these are one of the most important fixtures in the stated space. Don't compromise on the quality of it if you want them to survive the long run.(You can go for the Jaquar continental series or change to Parryware) You can certainly compromise on the WC & the WB since even brands like Somany give good ceramic fixtures at relatively low cost. There you can save your bucks. 2. I haven't worked on PVC vanity but can comment that marine ply cabinets also stand well for the wear and tear. 3. You can go ahead with just the glass partition avoiding the cubicle door. 4. Yes you can but the selection should be on the lighter side of the colour palette so that the bathroom should not look more claustrophobic due to its small size(2 m x 3.5m which is normal in today's real estate market in mumbai). Before starting
wet works(tiling works). We need to test base slab by arranging ponding test. If any leakages
found in slab, it needs to be treated with injection grouting. After completing
this process. We need to apply brush bond RFX or equivalent water proofing
chemicals on top of base slab. After completion of water proofing it need to be
protected with screed concerting with min 25mm.
