WHAT IS THE MISSING IN THIS INTERIOR.?
Comments (23)The first thing that bothered me in this room is the distance between the seating area and the tv area and that both seem unrelated in everything. I think what you should do to pull everything together is the following: 1) Move that sectional away from the back wall and the curtains (placing couches against the wall is outdated now) and closer to the tv 2) Center the coffee table under the chandelier with the sectional placed 16 inches away from it 3) get a console table of a height equal to the sectional's back 4) place few decorative items, stacks of books, candles, lamp shades whatever you find suitable on the console 5) someone mentioned that the two accent chairs are not in scale with the room. I totally agree with that. You need wider chairs with a low back 6) A rug is a must and two are better than one, layered of course !! But make sure the biggest one is big enough to place all the seating on it. 7) pillows and a throw will add warmth and texture too......See MorePeacock Teal dining
Comments (31)Dear Crazyjunglite, please let me add some ideas for your space. I beleive that a nice combination of two curtains like the one with the blue and peach double curtains in the picture, will give you an eclectic feeling that matches to your painting. The combination of colors that I suggest is this blue with brown flares and the cream-peach taffetas, and the soft cream sheer behind. It will join all the rest beautiful items suggested by now: https://www.etsy.com/listing/163787105/blue-curtain-polyester-fabric-122-inches?ref=shop_home_active https://www.etsy.com/listing/163785041/light-yellow-beige-curtain-polyester?ref=related-6 https://www.etsy.com/listing/167660815/35-discount-for-one-pair-of-two-beige?ref=listing-shop-header-1 https://www.etsy.com/listing/167363693/ecru-sheer-curtains-fabric-118-inches?ref=shop_home_active...See Moreplease help...hello i have one sofa set and 2 single bed one tv in liv
Comments (76)HI RinaI do agree I love jewelbox rooms, but I consider them more cosy ... and with a grey marble floor it goes all Versace Italianate! I am trying to balance the colours by bringing in a pattern on the covers rather than plain. I feel this will bring colour without overpowering the room. In the pictures I showed above, the rooms are basically neutral but the colour is brought in via pattern - I think this might be the way to go...Ideally a green or blue on a subdued grey would be the best, but I dont know what the market is like for Sumit...Cushions can do a lot to tie in the other white/grey elements.Shelley - navy is a good suggestion, but as Sumits area is quite tall and thin, trying to keep the general area light Any more suggestions most welcome. These are just ideas after all and Sumit will choose what works for the room in the end ;-)...See MoreOpen versus Closed Kitchen?
Comments (2)Thank you Marie. I'm herewith attaching couple of pics that were taken when the house was newly constructed. I wish I could take latest ones but it is a total mess now. But you'll get a fairly better idea with an empty house. One picture, taken in long-shot, shows the lateral part of the kitchen hidden behind the shelf and Arch (I brought down this Arch now). The second one shows the kitchen door showing only part of the kitchen interior. I've annotated the pictures wherever necessary. Hope they're not distracting. As you can clearly see, this is an old-styled construction even though this house was constructed barely 6 years ago! In an attempt to make the home look contemporary, my current project involves either 1 . Bringing down the concrete shelves completely and replace them with wooden cabinets/wardrobes. I've already brought down few concrete shelves in other rooms. OR 2. Alternatively, overlaying few of existing shelves with wooden doors to cover them up. Either way, the appearance is more or less the same once the furnishing is completed. At this juncture, this decision of 'Open Versus Closed kitchen' is holding me back from proceeding to the next phase of remodeling - Dropped Ceilings....See Moreltoby
