Hi. There's not much we can do for you without pictures of your kitchen, and your shelf, or at least a plan of the floor space. Why not have a look at http://www.houzz.com/kitchen-plans for inspiration? You could also try Google Images 'kitchen plan' and see what comes up. In fact, try doing the same for 'kitchen shelf'.
