And, as with all natural tiles, there are maintenance issues you need to be fully aware of before purchasing so you can decide whether or not you want to invest your time in maintaining this stone.

I think your inclination toward rustic and distressed pieces is the right way to go. Consider a movable coffee table - I see 2 recliners that may necessitate some table shifting?- an area rug large enough to incorporate all the seating, rather than just a hearth rug, and enclosed storage for your electronics. If you can post shots of the room, other Houzers may have some more ideas.

If you are only going for furniture, here are few images of couch attached, please have a look. I say, align the couch along the walls so that you can get more area to use. Go for regular couch and chairs. If I'm not wrong TV is placed above the fireplace. Suggestion: bring it to eye level. TV is normally placed at the height of an average 30". First one is okay with!! I think you have to match your backsplash n countertop similtaneously, Flooring could have been different pattern/option than what you have to!! First complete bottom front way, then it can be looked at further....
