“I was introduced to House of Style through the recommendation of a friend. I had been putting off getting blinds for my kitchen and family room for ages. I talked with Don about my options for the kitchen widows. I have a bay window and a large casement window above my sink. Because our house backs up to woods, I did not want to lose any of my beautiful view. He showed me some plantation blinds did not use cords. I liked the idea of no cords! He made an appointment to stop by with his color samples to see if we could match the blinds to the windows’ trim. We found a perfect match. I have my view and also a way to block the sunlight. I can't decide if I like looking at them in daylight or at night. My family room has a five window bay and a door out to a deck. I thought that I wanted plantation blinds there as well. After some discussion, I told Don that I loved the look of shutters, but thought they would cost a bit too much. Don left a sample shutter for me to study and gave me an estimate of the cost of shutters. Not as bad as I thought it would be. So now I am really interested! After much discussion about options, I decided on 3 1/2 inch plantation shutters with the invisible lift bar in the back. It also has a split bar so that I can open the top and bottom slats independently. This is a great option for winter. I did not want anything to obstruct my view of the woods. This option gave me a clear line of sight, without any extra vertical bars or lines to distract from the view. We put the same shutters on the door for a finished look. Don’s workmanship is excellent! He measured carefully making sure that the shutters were in perfect alignment, even though my window casings varied in size from one side to the other. I don't know much about windows and doors, but Marc's expertise helped get me the best options I could within my budget. His crew installed everything in a day and it looks fantastic. All of the windows were original on the house (built in the 70's) so I'm looking forward to the savings on energy bills come this winter. The money was well spent on the improved curb appeal alone! “We had worked with this company on getting a large custom made door replaced. The salesman was very knowledgable, understood our requests and limitations on the type of door we needed. There were some delays on getting the door ready. It took twice as long to get as promised. Fortunatly it was installed on a December day that turned out to be mild for our area. The carpenters were excellent. They took their time and we were very pleased with their work. We are also very happy with the new door. We decided to replace our double hung sunporch windows. We again used this company. We worked with the same salesman. He came to our home helped us with the best options for large fixed windows. He said that he would make sure the time frame for delivery and installation of our windows would meet our request. Things were as promised we had the same carpenters come for our windows. Again they did an excellent job.”
