“We have a house and an acre of land in Metchosin, BC. It is a semi-rural part of Victoria so very lush, green and always growing! As we have not yet moved there full time, the garden was getting ahead of us and we were completely overwhelmed with the amount of work and at a loss for any ideas to get it under control and looking good. I went to a neighbourhood Garden Centre and basically said: "I need help" and they gave me Theresa Balak's card. I was ever so grateful! Theresa came over,to see us and we talked about what we envisioned, our lifestyle and our ideas and wishes for plants and the overall look we had in mind. She took measurements, created comprehensive drawings of the dream and gave us hope that we could find a solution that worked for us - easy care, drought and deer resistant and beautiful. She recommended three possible landscapers as well. Her flexibility and yet clear direction for neophyte gardeners was so appreciated. Her design and the landscaping of Natural Solutions has turned out out-of-control front yard into a beautiful display. (I am sure our neighbours are thankful and the deer travel through it with rarely a sniff or a nibble!) Thanks so much, Theresa!!”

They turned our very sad front yard into a beautiful garden. We asked for a drought resistant garden and they recommended a lovely mix of flowers, trees and shrubs. “We had seen several examples of Larry Myers' work and knew that his clients were thrilled with the results, so we hired Alfresco Living Design to design and landscape our city property to provide privacy while at the same time making it an airy and beautiful space. He succeeded brilliantly. He makes it all work for several important reasons that earn him a five star rating: 1. He has an outstanding sense of design, offering truly unique concepts that are refreshing and tasteful. 2. He knows what trees and plants to use not just for how they will look but also how they will react to site specific weather and soil conditions. 3. He worked with us to really understand what was wanted and then to our delight exceeded our expectations. 4. He respects a budget (you can always do more, spend more) finding innovative ways to get the best results for the buck. 5. He is a great listener and a thoughtful, considerate and humble person who doesn't let his prodigious talent turn into ego. And a bonus; if needed, he can design and fabricate supporting structures in wood, concrete or other material as part of the design process as he did for us. Larry Myers and Alfresco Living Design well deserve a five star rating.”

“We have a shared driveway with our neighbour and selected Abbey Road Paving to replace our old, cracked cement surface with paving stones. The work was done in May, 2015. It was a large project involving detailed plans for proper sloping and drainage requirements. We are very happy with the results. The project was done effciently and we were consulted on all phases of the job. The paving stone surface is an attractive alternative to a cement or paved surface. We now have the best looking driveway in our neighbourhood. As a bonus, our driveway is also semi-permeable and qualified for a cash rebate from Victoria's rainwater rewards program. We would recommend Abbey Road Paving and Landscapes to anyone wanting to build or replace their driveway or patio surface.”

“Hazel was a delight to deal with right from our very first telephone conversation. She met with us at our home and together we talked about all the hopes my husband and I had for our tiny backyard. Because of her great depth of knowledge, Hazel was able to help us hone in on certain things and educate us on what would and wouldn't be possible, saving us a lot of time, energy and money. Hazel created a beautiful plan that not only gave us a great "visual" of what our future yard would look like, but she also provided us with a a detailed lighting plan, materials list and a comprehensive list of plants to purchase. We were also able to get recommendations for tradespeople and where to buy the best plants. Hazel far exceeded our expectations and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her!”

“We had a garden pond that was very overgrown, and when the liner failed it gave us impetus to rebuild it. We'd seen Wildwood's work on a garden tour, and liked it. Mike James gave us an estimate, and offered a suggestion for an expansion of the pond into a water feature. No pressure, but it was a great suggestion, and we took it. The work started when promised, was done quickly and very well. Great crew - hard working, polite, inventive. They asked for input often, and I'm sure would have incorporated suggestions, but we let them do what they wanted. We're pleased with the result. I'd recommend Wildwood to anyone.”
