“Patrick worked with us a complete landscape project for our new home on 2 acres, covering various areas including, landscape, hardscape, pool area, plantings, vegetable garden, fencing, and other areas. He is easy to work with, knowledgeable, thorough, and follows up. We appreciated his designs and taste, and equally appreciated his overall practical approach to our project. While he was attentive to our needs (over the course of about 2 years) we also found he billed us fairly and used his time efficiently. We would highly recommend him.”

“Aitken & Associates considered all of the elements we wished to include in the landscape of our home, together with the grading plan of our lot, and came up with a design that could accommodate our wishes. We have been enjoying the result for 10 years now, with my only regret being the things I changed on my own from the written design plan as we were executing, thinking I had just come up with "better" idea. Wrong! They know what they're doing, and you can be sure its been thought all the way through. Everyone in the office was great to work with, returning phone calls and emails in a timely manner, and showing up for scheduled appointments on time. Our design plan was done when they said it would be, and we went straight to the City to get our permits. Which brings up another thing: Aitken & Associates was clearly familiar with our City ordinances because upon review by the City, there was nothing in our landscape design plan that we couldn't get permitted. We were very pleased with Aitken & Associates.”

“When my husband and I decided to redo our backyard the first person I wanted to call was Eddie Lidyoff. When he came to our home and I explained to him what I wanted he said he would do a drawing and get back to me. After a few weeks he came back over with his plans. As soon as I saw what he drew up I knew I wanted him to do the job. He listened to everything I said I wanted and added things I didn't even think of. His crew showed and and started the job. They were the most polite and energetic people. We were so happy with our backyard and so please to have a landscaper that puts so much pride in his work. When he worked on our waterfall I remember what a perfectionist he was about the size and placement of the rocks. After that I had to do the front yard and it too is absolutely gorgeous. Eddie's crew also maintains our yard weekly and I trust them completely.”

Endowed with oriental background with years of working experience in the west, Elaine has a very unique and artistic eye that I can rarely find in other designs's. Infused with her great taste, my yard turned into a piece of art work. Elaine kept the process clear and stayed communicative and responsive throughout the project. Before the project started, she collected my preference and listened patiently to my requests, and also shared her ideas and visions to me. “Robert Shuler designed my Carmel cottage landscape and hardscape. I wanted an easy to maintain garden that was also sensitive to water restrictions. I also wanted a Carmel stone outdoor fireplace and arch and gate at the entrance. I couldn't be more pleased. The landscape looks enchanting and magical. The stonework is absolutely masterful and looks like it was built at the time of the cottage, 1926. Bob is extremely easy to work with, fairly priced and a genuinely nice person. He also designed our remodeled kitchen which looks like an "old world" French one. He gets my highest rating for a job very well done.”

“Jim Roberts was our contact with Black Diamond for our project which consisted of (1)replacing a poured concrete front walkway that had two steps with pavers on an incline with no steps (this avoids people tripping on the steps at night) ; (2) creating a parking space next to the driveway with pavers; and (3) creating extra patio space using pavers around the back yard pool out of a grass area. Jim provided a nice presentation and competitive estimate and provided valuable creative input that steered us towards good choices of pavers and a great outcome. I was very nervous about the second part of the project (see above) because virtually all of our house utilities (gas, electric, telephone, cable, water line and drain line) all were directly through the area to be paved. Also, two massive tree root systems running through the area had to be hand removed due to being directly over the utilities. Jim and Black Diamond served up a truly outstanding crew that pulled it off without cutting any of the utility lines. Jim had good follow through and represented his company professionally and he would be our first call should we need paver services again. In summary, this was one of our best ever contracting outcomes and give due credit to Jim for that result. Chuck Clark”
