“Garden Architecture worked with my wife and I to redesign everything outside the walls of our house. The work included a driveway, walks, two entrances, patio, pond, firepit, retaining walls, stormwater management (two rain gardens and an underground surge tank), site lighting and plantings. I am an architect so brought some of my own ideas to the project, good and bad. Kirsten was a great collaborator and a delight to work with. She is knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the work and a creative designer, for our project doing everything from addressing tricky grading and drainage problems to creating a beautiful environment in which we now happily spend as much time as possible.”

Miles was especially helpful in working with the county government to get me through the extensive permitting process required to build a new house in the Critical Buffer Zone along a body of water in Annapolis. “We contracted with The Landscape Design Center to provide a consultation and subsequent installation of a full landscape lighting update. Although we already had landscape lighting in place for a number of years, as the trees and shrubs have grown we were feeling like the existing lighting did not accentuate the natural beauty of the property nor did it provide adequate path lighting on parts of the property. Our first step was to meet with a Landscape Designer from the Landscape Design Center. She was very knowledgeable with great and creative ideas..... Exactly what we needed. She not only designed the project but also managed the project from start to finish. She also coordinated with our electrician to ensure proper coordination with out Lutron System. In all aspects, she was outstanding! The installation itself was also outstanding. This was a complete makeover. So we expected the lawn and planting beds may be pretty torn up when the project was complete. We were surprised when that was not the case at all. All of the installation was done in a professional and clean manner. You can barely tell that we had any work done at all. The end result is amazing. The new lighting brings out all the best in the property. We can't wait until warmer weather when we spend more time outdoors and really get to enjoy it even more.”
