“Melissa designed a kitchen and vertical addition to my 1820 brick one-room schoolhouse in Vermont. She was super thoughtful to find ways to preserve the original timber framing of the roof while maximizing the interior space for storage, second bedroom and office. The kitchen is almost finished and is a dream to work in. I haven't done the tower/dormer construction yet, but I dream about it daily!”

“Cushman designed and oversaw construction of my small inn, sterling Ridge Inn. The design was economical and sited perfectly with the natural beauty of the meadows, woods, and spectacular mountains. Inside, on the porches, or in the grounds, one felt comfortably connected to the nearby natural beauty. Everything, from the convenience of the kitchen to the light and comfort of the cathedral ceiling living room gave great comfort to the inkeeper (me), as well as my guests.”

“Our company has had the pleasure of partnering with Andrew Volansky on multiple construction projects, residential and commercial, and most recently with the Volansky Studio, on a lakeside traditional Scottish style cottage. Andrew’s attention to detail and open-minded approach to design, guided the project, along with his ability to problem solve and communicate effectively. Upon completion, the home’s fine architectural details and finishes, combine modern convenience with cozy 17th Century charm. “We had never worked with architects and designers nor had we been through this type of home renovation project. We asked Brown and Davis to explain the process to us and help us understand exactly how it would work. They exceeded our expectations in that regard from introduction to construction finish. The design that they came up with took 100% of our functional needs and aesthetic direction into consideration and turned it into a modern, practical and livable space that we never could have imagined on our own. We couldn't be happier with our home and look forward to renovating a few more spaces in our home in the future with the Brown & Davis team.”

“I love the addition Alan designed! He changed a small catalogue plan cape into a unique and beautiful home. His integration of the addition with the pre-existing building was brilliant. Alan thoughtfully attended to all issues that came up during the construction process, from managing landscape changes to resolving the smallest details. All this while respecting my budget! I never expected that the renovation and addition process would be so much fun.”

“We worked with Ernie and Mike at Tektonika on a very successful custom home project. We selected Tektonika as our architect given the connection we felt both in terms of personal relationships and home design and building philosophy. Our project balanced design with sustainability and budget, both from an environmental and ongoing operating cost perspective and Tektonika embraced this challenge and delivered a truly unique family home with which we are delighted Our partnership with both Tektonika and our general contractor, Sisler Builders, was founded on open and honest discussion and debate and Ernie was a good listener, flexible when appropriate but also a powerful advocate / guardian for ideas which he felt strongly about in the context of the overall project design philosophy. We had the odd tough conversation, but retained a positive working relationship throughout the project with constructive feedback being given and taken on both sides. Happily we completed our project on time and on budget and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Tektonika team in the future.”
