He was simply the best to deal with, very professional, on time, and took a personal interest in the project, and within budget. We moved in 2 years ago and still love him and the contractor, C.W. Wright in San Carlos. We are pleased to show the house through Eugene Sakai at any time.”

“Sarit was awesome. We did a renovation of the house, and from start to finish Sarit set the tone. She listened to thoughts, and created a vision based on this. She is highly responsive, creative, thoughtful and supportive. Renovation can be trying and Sarit facilitated the process. Between creating renderings of the vision, working with the county for the permits, arranging and interfacing with the contractor, and designing the house, Sarit directed the project and was great. The outcome is fantastic, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciated Sarit's work here. I recommend her highly.”

“Katie Pashel has a quality that is becoming rarer among the noise of modern communication: she listens carefully and HEARS what the client is saying. We hired Katie to undertake the creation of much needed living spaces in our 100-year-old home after interviewing multiple architects. The other architects acted as if they were listening to our vision but then turned around and offered alternative visions that ignored our specific requests. While creative ideas are always welcome, it is important to feel that the architect, designer or contractor first respects the input of the client, especially if the client has very clear ideas of what is wanted. And what is not. Katie has an amazing capacity to be patient with our passion for details and is always gracious with her feedback on what may work within our home or what constraints we have to be aware of. Katie reviews feedback thoughtfully and makes revisions or suggestions based on our comments without letting ego get in the way. She has created designs that work with our desired budget and offers practical ideas to help meet the challenges of an old house. She also respects the architecture of the house in that she offers modern ideas without trying to remove or diminish the house's historic character. She created design concepts from our long wish list for a master bathroom and converted an enclosed 1930s porch we refer to as our 'Winchester Mystery Room', into a functional and well proportioned space. She faced every possible challenge: multiple uneven connections to the adjacent roof areas, height limitations, window restrictions, layout challenges due to the proposed bathroom being located above a kitchen and old house bones with uncertain structural issues. Despite all these headaches, Katie has always stayed positive and encouraging when we have felt frustrated or discouraged with the bumps-in-the-road. We look forward to continuing to work with Katie as she helps us to create a sanctuary that we can fully enjoy.”

He was extremely sensitive to our needs and concerns regarding design, process, timing and budget. He worked seamlessly with our contractor. “I was introduced to Bess through a previous Designer I worked with who was retiring her business. She felt Bess would be a good fit for me and my job, and I knew from our first meeting she was right. Bess and her Studio 3 team came on the job when we completed the basic house conceptual plan. Her input and ideas only further enhanced the function of the floor plan. As well, her knowledge, expertise and practical approach has been so valuable especially as this is my first major house remodel. I have quickly found how easy it is to keep expanding the plan as well as the budget! She does a great job keeping me on track and realistic, which my husband appreciates! Bess has guided us through our Phase 1 of the crazy permit process for an in law quarters and is now assisting with our phase 2, the rest of the house., all the while setting expectations of how to work with the city. She is also great when working with your personal choice of contractors, although she provides her own top notch referrals. Her team is friendly and responsive. We still have a ways to go, but she is willing to work with you on what services you need in regards to your budget, which I appreciate. I've been in Real Estate for 13 years, and one thing I've learned is when you find great vendors, partner with them, keep using them and refer them! I've referred Studio 3 to two people / clients with different styles and both have been thrilled to work with her. I would highly recommend you give Studio 3 and Bess a call for your next large or smaller project!”

“The staff at Ohashi Design Studio helped me design my kitchen/living space. I wanted to open up our galley kitchen to be able to see our incredible view from the kitchen. They came up with a design I never imagined could work so well. Rather than just remove a wall, they moved the kitchen, changed it to a more functional shape and not only opened up the view, but made the living space feel like we were outside. I have been especially impressed with their level of service. They listened to my dreams and goals and turned it into a reality beyond what I'd hoped for. They were available anytime I needed guidance during construction and made sure the project was built down to the finest details. They helped me find a contractor and oversaw the bidding process. They helped pick out all the materials and finishes, even the paint color. I can't say enough about their level of expertise and professionalism. I worked with Dave and Alan.”

“We spent two years with Bill Holland, the first conceptualizing ideas for a major remodel of our 1916 Craftsman style house, the second in construction. We loved working with Bill and today appreciate his talents as we enjoy living in our evolved home. Bill is a gifted architect – able to visualize the design and construction of a three dimensional space in his mind’s eye, and then communicate his vision to clients in an understandable way. We wanted more openness and access from the rear of our house to our back yard. The result is stunning – truly an indoor/outdoor living space. Upon the completion of our project, Bill and we were honored to win an award from the City of Piedmont for the Best Outdoor Living Area in 2011. ”

“FGY Architects are very personable, creative and professional. My husband and I enjoyed several conversations with the main architects, Catherine Fergus and Dan Garber about the why, how and what we would change in our home to make it more livable for our family. We both happened to practice industrial designer, which made the creative process with the Garbers' most enjoyable, by being able to describe our ideas verbally and by sketching them in our meetings. Our project grew in size and budget during the process but since our plan was to be in our remodeled home for many decades, the increases have been worth it. To this day, we appreciate several ideas which both Catherine and Dan suggested from the expansion of the front porch, to enlarging doorways and creating an open feeling between rooms and hallways in relationship.”
