“My wife and I bought a home on a beautiful lake just a short distance from our offices, removed the existing home, and needed an incredible design for this unique property. We decided to retain Darrell and Liz based on some of their previous work, as well as both of them were LEED certified (an organization and green building standard I helped start in the early ‘90’s). They quickly caught our vision and desires, and made many improvements by blending in their own expertise and experience. At each iteration of the design we became more and more excited about our future home and how it seamlessly integrated into the property promising wonderful views and an incredible indoor/outdoor living experience. Sadly our plans changed and we sold the property, but have purchased 10 acres in Washington state with an even more incredible view, and will be incorporating many of the design features into our retirement home. Darrell and Liz are highly recommended if you’re wanting to do something outside the ordinary, and want architects who are easy to work with.”

“My partner and I purchased a home built in 1939 located inside the beltline of Raleigh, NC. The home had tremendous potential -- good bones, character, quirky spaces and ideal outdoor spaces. We were confident that with the right designers and builder, the home could be transformed into a comfortable and functional indoor/outdoor living space. Alphin Design Build and Jordan Design were amazing to work with. Both teams are knowledgeable, creative, and excellent listeners. They invested time in us -- learning how we would like to live in our indoor/outdoor spaces. As a result, our expectations were exceeded and our perfect "forever home" is now a reality.”

“I had a logical idea of how to expand my building by 2,000 square feet. I hired SX3 Architecture to prepare the drawings, get them through the building permit process and supervise my contractors. During our initial meeting, Sean, the principal, had some very good suggestions of how to make the additional space look much more interesting, and use it to improve the appearance of the existing building - it is now dramatic and contemporary instead of predictable and plain! We also shifted the additional space relative to the original building to create distinct and more usable rooms inside the building. Overall, the experience working with Sean, and the result, have far exceeded my expectations.”
