“Paula Baker-Laporte FAIA and EcoNest really need no introduction. She is one of the top 10 Green architects in the nation, a knowledgable speaker and author and has created many beautiful, natural, ecocentric homes and structures throughout the US. Her book 'EcoNest' is a joy and an education, as well. As a TEDx Experience commitee member, I was proud to have invited her to speak at TEDx San Antonio and am looking forward to working on a built project.”
Heiland Hoff Architecture LLC
Green Building in Ashland.
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars21 January 2015
“Heiland listened to what we wanted and needed and came up with a design that was perfect - literally perfect. He situated the house on the lot in the optimal way, so that we have the best views possible while maintaining privacy. Passive solar features make the house comfortable year-round, and cut heating and cooling costs. Heiland also helped us to hire contractors and supervised the building process, so that we had the most minimally anxiety-provoking building experience. This was a great experience and we would definitely do it again.”

“Brint designed a new home for me in 2005, which won an award from our local Historic Commission. Form and function in a "jewel-box" of just 1000 sf. He then designed a small addition, also completely functional and comfortable. This year (2015) he designed an historic renovation on another very small house for me, also in our historic railroad district. His sense of historically appropriate design is impeccable (he's won other awards as well.) He never lets his ego get in the way of creating the best outcome, working well with owner and contractors. Plus, his drawings are gorgeous in their own right, leaving the home owner with beautiful elevations suitable for framing. Because he was a contractor for years, he knows all the ins and outs of structure. His manual intelligence allows him the breadth to create everything from tile design to lighting to custom fittings of all kinds. He is a furniture builder, as well. Jack--and master--of all trades.”
