About Us

Originally founded as Bruce L. Bockus, Architect, in 1987, Bruce Bockus and David Payne together established Bockus Payne Associates Architects of Oklahoma City in 1993. Since then, Bockus Payne has steadily grown from a staff of three to a current team of 20. A diverse background and team-oriented approach has allowed Bockus Payne to grow in both knowledge and experience, providing each client with a personalized touch of professionalism and unique design.

We desired a design process that would meld our conceptual scheme with the design skills of the architect we engaged. After a disappointing first effort to achieve that result, we sought out the firm of Bockus Payne for the design of our new home. They were professional, were quick on responses, listened to what we wanted, redirected us when we were off tract and, most importantly, designed a home that met our needs and desires. Our home is everything we envisioned we would want. We owe it all to Bruce Bockus and Steve Bothell at Bockus Payne.

The best architect I have ever worked with on a home! Guides you through the project gently, but not overbearing or pushy. His ideas are excellent, timely, and very helpful. His drawings and inspection of the work as it progressed was top notch.

I can not express to you how wonderful the team of architects were with this firm. We recently completed a large add on to our home that was originally built in 1932. Bruce Bockus and Steven Bothell were an absolute pleasure to work with. They listened well to what we wanted and stayed very true to the form and style of our home while adding some very creative and interesting touches to the architecture of it. Their team was timely, diligent, creative and fun to work with. I really would not settle for any other firm.
