Victorian Resurrection

The four pieces of antique hardware for this recycled door (built into a sliding pocket door) were fished from the drawers of a local architectural hardware store, Rejuvenation. The 100 year old decorative mortise set needed to work with two different ornate escucheon plates, so the door was brought in to the store to make sure it would fit. The two keys were found separately and they are stamped "1859"! The hardware was not refinished, for its patinaed finish was fine the way it was found.
