Trikon

Trikon A house of three materials. With minimalism as a premise, the project is designed to be aesthetically harmonious and functional. The apartment being located in the bustling and chaotic lanes of JM road in Pune, has a contrast of tranquil environments created by the material palette and textures used. It is a perfect example of a sophisticated and harmonious aesthetic drawing a fine line between luxury and the comfort of a home. The materiality follows a minimalistic line, taking inspiration from the famous quote “less is more”, a theme of timeless simplicity is followed. The entire house revolves around three materials, namely, basalt, timber, and cement; a serene and inviting atmosphere is created. A sensitive balance between the coldness of the greys and the warmth of the wood is struck with a hint of pink terrazzo to bring elegance and create an accent. The flooring lines created in the black basalt stone follow the massing grid of the space creating a strong geometry and giving the space a visual interest and depth. Geometry and abstraction take centre stage with elemental task-based furniture dividing the space and massing being created through unconventional furniture. The wardrobes do not follow any of the conservative designs but have a strong character and focus on their presence in the entire space. Likewise, most of the furniture designed in the space does not follow the conventional design but completely focuses on explorations based on human scales and proportions. Ultimately, this minimalistic apartment stands as a testament to the beauty of simplicity, demonstrating that by carefully selecting materials, paying attention to balance, and embracing functionality, a space can be transformed into a haven of tranquillity and timeless elegance in the heart of any bustling city.
