CHAPTER SEVEN CONTINUED IN Staging Stories by Alicia Barrington Presented by Houston Home Staging
Regarding your ‘casually’ draped and folded ‘throw’ blanket (reference previous paragraph – it’s about the toss pillow): please dear, we’re no longer draping or throwing things on the back of the chair like doilies or Aunt Beulah’s antimacassars . We’re placing throw blankets on the diagonal on the corner of the ottoman, sofa, seat, or bed.
You shall be awestruck by ‘MY’ cookbook-on-a-stand; with coordinating (and possibly matching) canister set (your items weren’t good enough). Standing guard over the decorative bottles of oils-with-herbs, and clear jars filled with pasta will be the ubiquitous and omnipresent: Ceramic Rooster…… replete with your Macy’s-had-this-whole-set-on-sale, butcher knives, encased, entombed, and preserved in a 10 pound block of lacquered pine!
Bless your heart, the guest hand towels in the Powder Room; do match (exactly) the cabbage-rose motif in the wallpaper border, and who couldn’t love blood red accent walls. (Really, you call that a Type O+ color match, an ‘accent’? ….hmmmm).
