Natural farmstay, Wada

A 5000 sq.ft farmhouse made with natural building materials and recycled waste material, using traditional knowledge and passive design technology with local unskilled labour with minimum intervention to the natural surrounding environment. The structure is designed with basic passive climatology techniques ensuring natural light and ventilation, creating comfortable built environment. It is designed around the existing trees on site to accommodate the pre-existing ecology and cause minimum damage to the surroundings. Material used for construction has been sourced from the land like mud, wood and stone; natural locally available preservatives like neem leaves, hirda, turmeric; natural renewable low energy-intensive materials like bamboo and lime and recycled materials like glass bottles, tyres, toughened discarded glass.
