Montecito Craftsman Dining Room

Allen Associates was contacted to remodel the existing bungalow into an energy efficient Craftsman style home of her dreams. However, when nine cracks in the foundation were discovered due to the expansive clay soil, there were no options left other than to demolish the old house and build a new one in its place. The client gave us several clear mandates: Build an energy efficient house that is true to Craftsman architecture, build a quiet house, keep the olive tree that the house is built around from being damaged, and solve the crawl space moisture problems that plagued the original house since it was originally constructed. The final product, with its SIPS structure and true Craftsman style, exceeded our clients’ expectations.
