This beautiful master bathroom is situated in a Victorian townhouse in the heart of Notting Hill, London. The classic style and bold colour choices create a relaxing space with a unique style and elegance that is both classic and contemporary which was featured in the October 2014 issue of Homes & Gardens. Drummond’s roll-top Spey cast iron bath in Salmon pink is the main feature of the room, with Drummonds’ brassware creating a warm, nostalgic feel. It has been left un-lacquered and un-polished to age naturally giving it a rich, golden colour and unique patina. The bath is drained through a Plunger waste unit based on a classic Victorian design. Drummonds’ curved pipe Dalby shower and the WC are concealed in a custom-built enclosure in the back wall, behind a vintage art deco screen sourced from France. This beautiful piece is backlit, bathing the bath in a soft glow in the evening. The soft shapes of Drummonds’ pop-up basin mixer taps with burnished walnut handles are paired with the contrasting contemporary cut of the square marble basin and square cornered cabinetry. Gallery flfoor large slabs in diamond pattern with metal inserts for definition, give contrast to the rectangular chandeliers, and enhancing the axis that points to the Dinning Room at the end.

Mediterranean: Euclid

Harold Leidner Landscape Architects

Completed in 2013, this stunning Italianate Mediterranean Villa is located in Highland Park, Texas and stands out in an already distinct architectural neighborhood. This project was designed and installed by Harold Leidner Landscape Architects. The expansive property features a lush landscaping, front motor court with travertine pavers and a luxury pool and spa. The pool area was designed to have a private resort feel to allow for entertaining. In addition to the spacious loggia and cabana spaces, the owner also wanted to have shade protection near the water, so a custom designed pavilion was built on the end of the pool to provide a shaded destination with cushion lounges that extend out into the water, flanked by fountains and adjacent to a fire bowl feature with a classic fire place surround. A truly elegant outdoor space for parties and entertaining with a sophisticated, modern flavor.

Guest & Family Room Addition

OLSON LEWIS + Architects

Shingle-style guest cottage addition with garage below and interior connector from the main dining room of an early 1900 existing house. Sited so that garage entrance and drive works within the existing landscape elevation and orientation, the guest cottage connects directly to the first floor of the main house. This results in an interesting structural dynamic where the walls of the second floor addition are square to the main house, and the lower garage walls corkscrew at a forty-five degree angle to the walls above. Inspired by their fond memories of travels to the island of Malta, the client requested warm neutral finishes and chose honed cream marble flooring with tight fitting grout lines and an intricate pattern of a Walker Zanger marble tile for the fireplace surround. "Dove White" walls with "Antique White" trim were selected in traditional simplicity to replicate the standard of the existing house and create a seamless transition to the addition. Locally handcrafted copper sconces gently illuminate the space and maintain the period-style of the home.

Drury Design

Adjacent to the bar, a living room area was designed with ample amounts of seating for entertaining. Custom built-in cabinets along both sides of the television and fireplace allow for storage and display for the homeowners belongings. By using the same cabinet details and ledger stone as the neighboring bar area, a comfortable flow was created.
