Capitol Hill Town Home

This 100 year old row house in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC got a dramatic kitchen makeover. A wall was removed to open up the kitchen to the dining room and a peninsula bar was created for casual entertaining. The pine board floor was restored. Painted cabinets with a brushed finish suited the homes traditional style. Special elements like the turned posts and the carved rosette valance above the sink refer to the home's original wood trim. Stacked wall cabinets take advantage of the tall ceiling and capture extra storage. Custom features include a removable radiator cover and an ingenious corner storage device.
