Austin dining

The traditional china cabinet and Queen Anne table did not fit this young couple. Her signature color is Royal Blue, so we painted the walls a soft gray, with white trim. The room has five sides, a 10 foot arched window, 12 foot ceilings, and a 6 foot wide, arched entry. We placed the table diagonally, parallel to the left wall, under the light fixture. We brought a black, mirror-front credenza from the hall, and hung a large silver-framed floral canvas above it. On the focal wall, opposite the entry, and next to the Palladian window, we hung vertically, two large abstract canvases. The upper painting is a gray and white swirling vortex, accented with silver metallic. The lower painting is a stormy turbulence of black, white, blue and gray.
