It looks like a display cabinet has been incorporated into the island?

Q

Photo

maybe the design of the kitchen can include cupboards for the office too (combined pricing?)

Q

Photo

nice island...their comment was: Seeing lots of kitchens with dual color cabinets especially blue islands. I'm thinking if blue goes out of style it might be easier to replace an island rather than the other kitchen cabinetry

nice island... Paint cabinets in soft hues - If you want to move away from white, other light colours – such as pale greys, greens and blues – are also popular for Hamptons-style cabinets. Or walls can be painted in a dusty colour to allow crisp white cabinets, splashbacks and whitegoods to pop.

I like the open shelving on the edge of uppers - could they also open on two sides?

Glossy greige cabinets complement this kitchen's lightly stained flooring. Paint Pick: Tapestry Beige OC-32 by Benjamin Moore.

Microwaves are often placed too high, and warming drawers too low. A maximum of 48 inches above the floor is an ideal height for a microwave for most people — unless you’re LeBron James! Homeowner’s Workbook: How to Remodel Your Kitchen.

This vanity is 36" tall to the countertop, and 88 3/4” wide, 22” deep.

Believe it or not, there can be such a thing as too much counterspace. When it happens it's most often seen in the L-shaped kitchen layout. In this kitchen, hutch-style cabinets on the countertop solve this problem, add to the aesthetic, and create additional storage. This solution also cuts down on the clutter that can appear when there's too much counterspace outside of the main work triangle.

The vanity is about 86" wide, 88" tall at the tower cabinet, 38" tall at countertops, and about 23" deep. The tower cabinet itself is about 24" wide.

There are also some of us tall people who need a higher cabinet. It is bad for ones heart, not to mention their back, to bend down to the 36" sink just for simple things like brushing teeth or applying makeup or washing/rinsing ones face.

Black appliances: The latest entry vying for market share is black stainless. It’s impervious to fingerprints, and that is a big, big selling point. Its main drawback is that when scratched — and it will get scratched — the underlying color is stainless, as in silver.

Lighted interiors. Interior lighting is no longer limited to glass-front cabinets displaying lovely dishes. Pantry and base cabinets are often 24 inches deep with dark crevices, limiting the visibility of their contents — and what isn’t readily visible often doesn’t get used. Consider lighting the interiors of your deeper cabinets not as a luxury but as a necessity, like the light in your bedroom closet.
