Lounge/ Extension Glazing
I was thinking about more rectangular than square maybe to go with the height of the glazing in the lounge. Maybe like the shape of the rectangles right at the top of this frame? Although for bedrooms say the small square windows we have now give more of a sense of privacy whilst maintaining the full view so prefer that too for other windows.
Like look of this externally
Don't like it, looks like a port cullice across the house py
Looks like naff version of earlier photo of Spanish guy opening door with lanterns
Windows too many squares py Mairead thinks ok. What I like (py) is detailing above windows might look nice below balcony and columns
Could work with our house?Might work with right colour looks traditional but contemporary
Ugly
Maybe a look how crittal squares work with different size panes, looks ok, don't like the rest of the build looks dark. From an external point of view we like this. Detailing under roof seen in other buildings in blackheath nice way to add character to build. Maybe the right hand side window panes?
This looks ugly to me, want to avoid, py
Frames not as 'heavy' as current crittal, don't like colour or thicker frame sections, might be alright in white, not sure works in sliding doors
Too much crittal windows totally detracts from building can't see anything but windows, what I want to avoid py
Like glazing and openness of lounge, but property maintains traditional feel, think only works as surrounded by traditional building all around, so might not be able to get this feel from our house as extension will take whole side, unless put crittal windows in bedroom and loft so more modern windows balance the look
Like the corner window for the lounge, would it work with Crittal windows elsewhere and traditional build in both old and in extension, PY
Bi fold doors achieves bigger opening, downside is number/ size of panes and frames and floor space on terrace when opening and closing ?
Will the opening using glazing look like this? I don't think will achieve outside inside flow as glazing once open impedes access to terrace and view to garden straight view ahead is half glazed and unglazed
Like this glazing, compromise between clear glazing and original houses crittal windows, not sure works without double height?
Don't like this.frames seem bulky/ modern/ belong on a warehouse
Windows look nice. Not sure look or feel can be adapted for our house
Not as doors with a wood panel but as a fully glazed door, i.e. Frames look ok
Frames not pretty feels plasticy and conservatory like
Looks very nice. These windows have more of an elegant soft feel to them. Vs aluminium framed ones. Not sure we get the opening on them. Squares too small as well.
Don't like this as feels conservatory like
Not sure if works with our house but like the look of it
Like the openness feel of this picture, not necessarily the glazing
Detailing around frames maybe keeps character, probably not what we're aiming for
Quite like the look of this building and glazing. Maybe windows here feel more subtle? Not sure if it's the windows or styling around them ?
Is this the colour of zinc you mean? Will it have these ridges/ joins, looks good with white background
