the small rock bed on the side seems like a good plan for water
I like the pavers for a walkway into the yard. I also like the tall grasses on the side of the walkway.
I like the blueness of the stone and the vegetation around it.
I like the deck around the hot tub - has a built-in feel for half the cost.
I like the hearth as a centerpiece, but perhaps a smaller profile?

This is basically what I want to do for the patio. Create a specialized fireplace area off the back leaving the side yards free for play.
