when there are no sidelight windows around a front door, speakeasy grilles — such as this metal door model set in a door crafted by F.M. Construction — can still be used to perform their original function.

Never underestimate the design power of pink and green. After all, green is nature’s truest neutral. It goes great with any color and brings every color around it to life.

Bermuda shutters shown here, can be opened in summer to provide shade and shed rain, and shut in winter to block drafts and protect windows from strong (even hurricane-force) winds.

Fireplace - This looks like a set of gas logs in a prefabricated wood burning firebox. You can find many gas logs that will look better than the typical direct vent gas fireplace. Check out your local Heath/Fireplace shop. 17 months ago · Like PRO COASTROAD Hearth & Patio There are a number of clean-face (no louvers), flush hearth direct vent gas fireplaces available now, but here are a few of my favorites: http://mendotahearth.com/fullview-fireplace.php http://www.fireplacex.com/ProductGuide/ProductDetail.aspx?modelsku=98500213 http://www.townandcountryfireplaces.net/products/tc42.php (I think this one, with herringbone brick, looks the most like the one in the photo above) http://www.napoleonfireplaces.com/Fireplaces/Fireplaces_gas/gd80nt.html If you'd like some specific help with your application, you can contact me or your local National Fireplace Institute professional : http://www.nficertified.org/

The double-hung window, along with its cousin the single-hung window, is just about the most common window there is. As its name implies, the window is made of two independent sashes that are hung in a frame. The sashes, one at the bottom and one at the top, can slide up and down within this frame or, as in the case of a single-hung window, only one sash will be movable.
