Not sure about those weird 3-dimensional balls, but the photo shows what hexagonal white tiles look like. I think they're actually very pretty, and a little more delicate and feminine than the straight rectangular subway tiles. I think in general they run a little more expensive, so may not be worth the added cost, but, cost aside, I do like the look, and this it would be lovely in our kitchen. I totally think it could work just above the stove area, too. (as opposed to throughout the entire kitchen).

This is another case of backsplash just behind the stove. I think it looks just fine, actually, because it stands out as its own design feature, not just as an awkward continuation of the counter top up the wall.

I like this tile, but would choose more color-similar grout, so as not to define the rectangles as much.
