The glossy hardwood floors, red wall, and table give off an obvious smooth, hard texture. This is contrasted by the frilly lamp shade and the fabric-backed chairs. The basket at the center of the table adds a unique texture to the room.

There are several contrasting textures in this room. The wall with the raised pattern of what looks like flower petals is the focal point of the room. Although the wavy figure in the right corner mimics the swirls of the raised flower petals on the wall, it's rough texture gives a stark contrast. The plush area rug and white throw contrast with the smooth hardwood floors. The texture of and the creases in the leather chairs mimic the raised waves on the wall.

While the exterior walls have no shingles or bricks, the texture gives the appearance that this wall is one singular stone slab. It compliments the rustic texture of the door, the stone archway, and the rough path leading to the entry of the house.
