Lighting
Perimeter Lighting - perimeter lighting gives a general even tone of light by lighting the surrounding area of a space instead of any one specific area. You can see in the above picture that all of the light in the room can be found along the edges and corners, or the perimeter of the room. It casts a very even and non intrusive light
Cove Lighting - Cove lighting can look similar to perhaps perimeter lighting, however cove lighting is placed within a soffit near the ceiling allowing light to bounce off of different areas within that soffit, creating an even glow. In the above image you can see the soffit paced near the ceiling where the light is emanating from.
Wall washing - Wall washing is very similar to wall grazing, except that the lights are usually placed a bit further away from the wall and cast a light across the wall. I found the picture above which I feel is a more experimental version of wall washing which uses natural light instead of manmade,
incandescent light - this is one of the first types of manmade lights that were created. It isn't used as often as other light due to the fact that the that filament on the inside is lit by heat and the glow from the heat lights the surrounding area. So these types of light bulbs can cause an area to get hot over a period of time. you can see an example of this above.
Fluorescent Lighting - Fluorescent lighting is one of the most common types of lighting. You can often see it in large spaces or more commonly office spaces. There often times recognizable by the long thin light bulbs. Above you can see a more modern take on fluorescent lighting, with the exposed bulbs on the ceiling
Natural Light - As you can see the natural light in this room is abundant. Using natural light is bestt explained through the picture above however a definition could be said to be, A room making the best use of the natural light through use of windows
