Clean/simple white. Lots of storage for books. Like that the bookshelves curve. The reading room is separate from the kitchen, but the window connects them. Good use of separate rooms meets open concept.
Nightmares. We definitely want a great pantry but this is super chaotic and would be impossible for us to keep in order. Don’t like slim spaces with things that slide. Too overly prescriptive. A bare bones shelving situation would suit us much better.
Upstairs pantry. We need more storage than we currently have on the main floor. Want somewhere to keep things out of sight that is still very accessible. Not sure if it would make sense to have counters in it though. Maybe larger storage shelves for small appliances. Love the idea of a butler’s pantry or area to bring food or make drinks between kitchen and dining room.
Cutting board island but giant
I hate these
Accent corner storage. What I love about this is the lemon colour and the lemon-shaped tiles. That’s great cohesion. I think the white balances the intensity of the yellow really well.
The brick oven and rangetop area
This but make it a gradient
More Wes Anderson here, but I don’t like the red.
Map! But labels change, and I would never do a Mercader projection
Another tree bookshelf. Better if it was wood imo
This is a bit too spooky but cool
Kids lounge
The sleepover room
Nook!
Total Wes Anderson vibes.
Obvs
The ceiling. NOT the wallpaper. Good opportunity for wp though
Service cart matches countertop, acts as an extension
The stone wall in the hallway is a nice touch
Secret room for kids!
Secret passage option
Would love a room that feels literary. Probably not this high or with a TV thrown into the middle of it.
Library! And ladder! Not pretentious though
Alair homes built this one. This space feels a little in creative for me, but I find it calming and there is a nixie clean simplicity to it.
Serving window for dogs
Looks like ghostbusters firehouse!
Coloured door opens to mud room. This could be a good idea for the second front door. Space is large, functional, and versatile. The tiles welcome getting dirty (good choice for a mud room, which should be no stranger to messes).
Double front door!
Not sure if this is practical in our context, but it’s so charming and beautiful. I really love how romantic and lush it feels.
Functionality plus style. I like the closed storage for putting things out of sight but keeping them close by. I like one open bench rather than individual cubbies. Like the colours - blue-grey, the warm woods and the gold.
Potentially a similar concept for in my office, but with a fuchsia couch/chaise. I picture my office using Grandma Ruby’s black-painted wooden desk, and having a pink-purple colour scheme. I would like these colours together in a rug and potentially light purple walls. Maybe a bathroom with a light purple vanity with gold handles.
Dining area with shade. Fire area with open sky.
I like these shingles. I have read that they are more durable than cedar, and possibly less expensive. But still offer more charm than the standard ones. I also like the covered porch dining area. I know we also probably want some seating that can be in the sun.
Cool staircase!
This is stunning!
Navy with gold cupboards. Love navy with gold as kitchen colour scheme. Need the right wood floor. And white to balance.
Maybe something like this for the “bunkie”.
Porch overhang.
I like that there is a large bench with a drawer underneath plus closed storage for things not currently being worn.
Think tiles like that might be nice for a back patio or driveway.
Intrigued by the idea of using a corner for a mud room/hooks
Like navy cupboards with gold handles. Lots of closed storage. Think would prefer slab cupboards over shaker.
