I am not a fan of the tub room. I feel like the outside of the tub and the faucets would constantly get spotty. I don't think I would enjoy that too much.

I love the look of the Japanese soaking tub, but am wondering how comfortable it really is

The comfort really depends on your size and shape. They sell many sizes and you can get a water proof pillow or incorporate hot stones to add to keep it warm.

KJMR 100% rain head in shower. We considered same but went with 3” extension so it could be adjusted

I had my bath in with the shower in a house I designed from scratch. I loved it. The shower didn’t get my tub wet, it was far enough away. I don’t have children, but if you have little ones you don’t have to worry about them splashing or getting water on the floor, because the floor near the tub is the shower. I did a drop in tub. The free standing are pretty, but harder to get in and out of in my opinion. Practical is more important than trend in my opinion. Like those under the counter microwaves, don’t even get me started. That trend needs to die on my opinion.

Would appreciate seeing a photo of shower/bath arrangement, if you don’t mind

I too do not understand the free standing tub. They’re nice to look at but look ergonomically uncomfortable, hard to clean and both difficult and dangerous to enter and exit. I just bought a second Kohler alcove bubble tub - and we absolutely love it.

I don't understand how you would fit in a round little freestanding tub.

It actually looks like a light above the shower. Fans usually aren't placed directly above shower.

Our alternative to shower/tub room. So happy with this curbless shower close to the tub. Bonus: after a bath with spray, our labradoodle would jump out into the shower for a nice ”shake dry”. The tub is comfortable and not hard to exit.

A bidet should be a standard addition to every bathroom … wish to see more of those or else added to the toilet bowl.
