Floor? Not a strong feeling, but caught my eye because it is different from most other examples.

Combine with hidden TV idea?

Simple lighting
Another simple design with wood floor and simple lighting.
Simple and clean, but does it work with our furniture?
Simple colors, but fireplace is too big. Would rather de-emphasize fireplace.
Geometric fireplace surround might work.

Floor color is ok but I don't know if it works with our maple cabinets in the kitchen. I really like just about any wood other than knotty pine.
Cabinet colors are like the ones in our kitchen (which we are not changing). Like the floor and style of furniture. Not crazy about the windows or fireplace.
Close to the shape of our living room. Like the simple lighting. Like the fireplace as well, but might be too expensive a change for us (save on tiling the floor, though?)
If we end up requiring some fir-downs for the structural beams, perhaps a ceiling concept like this would work (with simple and indirect lighting).
