Reply to: I have TCE stone 4005 in my kitchen and LOVE them. They are the most natural looking carrara lookalike counters I've seen (in my opinion). They do have more warm tones in them though, which actually worked out great for me. My cabinets are BM Cloud White. They look very grey in a few of these pictures but they're really not..

Reply to: Zodiaq London Sky (slab), LG Cirrus (left) , LG Minuet (right) The large slab in the back is Zodiaq London Sky The sample on the left (red tag) is LG Hausys Cirrus The sample on the right is LG Minuet Of the above, I think the Cirrus has more of a white base with a soft swirl (not vein) of grey. The Minuet also has a white base, with grey, the grey will have more veining as it would compare to the Cirrus The London Sky is not as white as the other two (Cirrus being the most white), but rather it has more of a grey background with veining, the veining is more random. Less veining than Minuet. If you look at the slab towards the left corner area, it is almost veinless :)

Reply to: here's the picture of the minuet with the color matched white dove and revere pewter walls. it's not bad, i think i've just gotten pickier/crazier. i'm trying to brace myself in case my cabinets look that "warm" against my quartz. all of my doors and trim have yellowed a bit over time so i was having a harder time picking a brighter white than white dove because i feel like it would make everything else in the house look dingy.

Reply to: We were wanting the exact same thing and after looking at many, many samples ended up going with LG Viatera in Rococo. To me, it was the most marble-looking quartz that I saw. I've had it for about 6 months and I absolutely love it. It does have a lot of bolder movement but I liked that about it. I will say, I don't think any quartz *really* looks like marble, but this one is close enough for me. I think you can either live with marble and its tendency to patina or you can't, and as beautiful as I find marble to be, function won out over form for me. I'm clumsy, not a great housekeeper, and I have two (soon to be three) little kids. Almost everyone who sees my kitchen asks me if it's marble so it's good enough to fool the general public. I haven't done a full reveal yet (soon!) but here are a couple of snapshots:

Reply to: No, no one type makes them seem taller or larger. An inset vs overlay question really depends on the design, inset tends to be a little more traditional and overlay - contemporary. In general terms. However, if your kitchen was designed as custom inset and you are switching to overlay, there may be some design changes and details you can't quite replicate in overlay. If you want your cabinets to appear taller, and if you have the ceiling height, you can do a built up crown molding (flat molding like reversed base molding with a crown) or even a sheet rock soffit above cabinets, (it doesn't matter if it's inset or overlay, but in my personal experience, inset would look better with that kind of treatment). Reply to: I agree with clergychick. Cabinets will darken a little with time. I'd rather start out a little lighter than a little darker than I'd like. Especially if it's reading a little beige to you. Not sure of the brand of paint but soft white in some brands means a pinkish tone. However with the way they name paints who really knows? Wishing you all the best with your decision : ) P.S.(my bathroom cabs are off white but "too off white" for me, I often lament this fact and wish there was something I could do about it but there just isn't, I will have to learn to love the one I'm with).
