Modern transitional bathroom remodel
This bathroom renovation at the Maciel residence in Yorba Linda, California transformed an outdated space into a modern, functional, and elegant bathroom. The project included full demolition, structural preparation, updated plumbing and electrical systems, and the installation of new finishes designed for durability and long-term performance.
The design combines modern and transitional influences, emphasizing clean lines, warm materials, and soft lighting to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere. A neutral color palette of light beige porcelain tile and soft natural tones forms the foundation of the space, while warm wood cabinetry adds depth and contrast. Brushed brass fixtures and hardware introduce subtle metallic accents that unify the design and add a refined finish.
The vanity features warm wood cabinetry with a streamlined layout of drawers and cabinet storage, complemented by linear brass hardware and a white quartz countertop. An illuminated mirror and recessed LED ceiling lighting enhance the space with soft, even illumination while highlighting the materials and textures throughout the room.
A key feature of the renovation is the curbless walk-in shower, designed for accessibility and a seamless contemporary look. The installation includes a Hydro-Blok flush-mount shower pan system that allows a smooth transition from the bathroom floor into the shower area. Large-format porcelain tiles line the shower walls, while pebble tile on the shower floor improves traction and introduces natural texture. A frameless glass enclosure and brushed brass shower fixtures maintain the clean, open aesthetic.
Together, the warm wood finishes, neutral tile surfaces, and coordinated brass accents create a cohesive, modern bathroom that balances visual warmth with practical functionality.
