Here are more pictures. Main door is exactly opposite the big opening. Forgive my ignorance, as I wasn't aware they are not called french windows. Since there is not much space between the main door and the big windows, I don't want to stuff it with furniture. Also, since we like big spaces, we would like to keep it as simple as possible. Anyway, my main concern right now is whether the bamboo blinds will work for these big windows, or they will give a stuffed look as soon one enters?

I agree when you say sliding doors are difficult to maintain, especially when it comes to cleaning the tracks of the door. At first you may make the effort, but later you will so regret it. Hinged doors are easier to maintain. They are a blessing!

pls suggest me a door for 8feet height by 5 or 6 feet wide space between drawing room and veranda.will 8 by 6 dimension look odd .as iam thinking of double wooden door with half glass with transom above.but will it look good or not.

No windows big enough. You see we live in the attached apt of a very old house,which the bed would easily fit in. But I guess we could get the newer bed(king,wrought iron,our choice of colours+ it comes apart,not at all cheap! Just easier- but no cool top.,) Thanx Lyn,anyway! Every comment helps- now do you prefer an antique step stool or little stairs to get into a high-mattressed bed?
