no, usually marble doesnt absorb water especially if it's surface is polished, its only weakness is poor resistance to acidic substances. for best results in a bathroom, i suggest a large tile combined with minimal grout joints._Leonardo
yes, its fine. just lay them down with minimal grout joints, but be careful because not everybody knows how to lay tiles very close to each other. Most importantly, the surfaces that you apply the tiles to have to be completely leveled. i suggest you lay the tiles like the reference picture, vertical on the walls and 45 degrees on the floor. If possible try getting 45cmx45cm tiles for the floor at least. send pics if possibile when finished._Leonardo
we did a custom bath surround, floor, and half wall with it out here in Chatham, NJ with a 3/16th grout joint and Laticrete SpectraLock epoxy grout. It was a bulletproof install and client loves it!
