Perhaps a large round table might mean a rug is not at all necessary. It could be a metal tray table, or carved wood like Rebecca Mitchell Interiors illustrates. Ideas also to consider, using multiple tables can be found at http://www.houzz.com/multiple-coffee-tables. I also agree with comments above that some color is needed on the walls. You could then hang round mirrors, or an unusual curved shape like RMI shows above.

Hi, I would suggest changing the furniture fabric first and formost, go for a solid colour say white, offwhite, grey or even brown, and use colourful cushions which you may keep changing. A light yellow more like a dull yellow with wall accessories will look great on the walls. . For the flooring , please use wooden laminates and repolish the ceiling (as i see is a lovely wooden ceiling ) to a similar shade. Change the curtains to a breezy white curtains. Dear Balaji, Tried and tested colour combinations that make wood work stand out will be in contrast to dark brown. You can choose reflective colours like pale yellow, off white.. I've seen a lot of photos and I have come to realise that I really like the pastel/muted color pallete and have also come to know that they are good for small rooms. I really liked nickel grey and silver grey. Do both of these colors also belong to pastel color pallete? I am not able to find a separate section for pastel color pallete on asian paints' website. So it's difficult to find similar colors. Thanks for helping me.
