Why does the new piece have to be leather?

I do not want fabric because of my dogs.

Dogs or no dogs, leather on leather on leather is just not a great look. I'd look into high performance fabrics with a high rub count. Bring in some pattern and color to that scheme. I really like kilim rugs and pillows with leather sofas. A flat weave rug would be pretty dog proof if you're worried about pulls.

I’d get a fabric couch and a nice washable throw blanket.

From what I can see, this room is too small for more furniture. Here’s why. Because of size of current pieces your arms will overlap which will not work well. You might get a 80” long sofa but chairs are better than sofas in small spaces. You could add small stools for added seating if needed. Definitely add some textured throws and a couple pillows. You need walking space and I always want a min of 3’ around seating areas for easy access.

I would add two high performance pattern fabric chairs instead of another sofa.

Or just one patterned chair.

Your love seat looks dinky in that space but the arm chairs look like monster trucks. Move the chairs and love seat in the arrangement you wish them to be in and then take another picture to post. I think it is going to look like a furniture warehouse in there. But, we won't know until we can see it and moving furniture is free so give it a whirl.

I agree a long sofa across from the TV makes sense. I can't imagine another leather piece mixed in with these ones. These chairs are so overstuffed and don't seem to match the style of your room or architecture of the space.

I always thought leather was a no-no with dogs because their nails scratch it up.

A. no more leather. B. no more black!

My chair is like an onion skin color. It's a nice neutral if leather is what you're after.

I have leather almost everywhere in my house I have 2 sofas and 4 choirs in my LR the sofa and 2 of the chairs all match the other 2 chairs do not match the sofa or each other but none are black 5 of the pieces are white leather and one chair is a very soft aqua color we alo have abench which is gray wool

I think you have enough black in fact I would probably lose the black pieces and do 2 soafs in a nice color of leather and 2 chairs but smaller scaled if you require all those seats. We move these pieces we have around a lot as you can see

These pieces are a trial run on leather. I chose leather for the ease of wiping/vacuuming etc. Fabric holds dog hair and scent.

From a cranky old lady: Do you dogs need to be on the couches? My daughter and son-in-law have trained their dogs (dobermans) to rest in their own doggie beds. They trained them by leaving books on the couches and chairs to make lounging uncomfortable. The dogs are happy in their beds at the feet of their humans or covered up from the cold. With former husband their big lab ruined the beautiful black leather couch by sleeping on it most of the time.

I would agree with Yvonne Martin….so many luxurious dog beds out there, no need for them to be on the furniture. And we have friends with multiple dogs (one is even allowed on furniture) who don’t have any leather sofas, yet mange to keep them clean. I can’t see letting my dog drool/scratch etc my $6 k love seat, no matter how sweet….we’re not made of money, and leather furniture ought to last many years.
