As others have said, it depends on the space. As a child I loved velvet flocked because it was so "touchable" LOL! In my extended family we tend to use the velvet flocked in dining rooms, the foil in bathrooms, and a high quality wallpaper in other rooms. The design is totally reliant upon the space it is being used in. In our Victorian farmhouse most of the rooms have the big roses or hydrangeas appropriate to the period. The wall is stunning and creative, but sadly, I have to agree with the consensus expressed on all your threads: this wood should have been bone dry, carefully checked over piece by piece for holes, insects, existing fungus etc., and probably treated and certainly well sealed before before being installed. At this point, I would cut my losses and take it down. Once the pieces are all down, it's possible that if you thoroughly scrub off all fungus with a bleach solution, then let them dry bone dry (preferably in a wood kiln or perhaps a DIY drying shed), then treat and coat, these pieces could be reinstalled. Even that depends on the conditions they'll see - if this wall is exposed to lots of steam or grease you'll be having new issues before long. Also, is the wall itself dry and solid? Any chance water is leaking or oozing from somewhere and adding to the issue? What species of wood is this? Some species are naturally more fungus resistant and appropriate for this than others. Long story short, I'd recommend finding a different way to cover the wall - with ceramic, galvanized metal, or with a really scrub-resistant paint.

Emmarenes, I'm living abroad in India, and the only granites in my budget are the local ones. I was advised against the gray and white local ones because i was told that they would not hold up well in the kitchen. I could have gone with a black galaxy as well but i have that granite now and despise it because of the way it hides ants and bugs so well. we live in a tropical area and there are always critters here and there. My first choice was a Brazilian white granite but it was triple the price. This granite is called Shiva pink, so it has a pink salmon and gray look to it. Im really hoping I don't hate it once it's installed. The stoneyard was a 9 hour trip up and down and i was just pressured to make a choice after several undecided trips. And I'm getting new cabinets put in. but I think I can wait for them to put the slab before staining the wood. Thanks for that idea :)

Hello. As you rightly mentioned, there are lots of varieties of tiles available in the market today, including the wooden pattern ones. These designs are offered by almost all the leading tile companies. Well, the patterns/designs are usually on individual's preference, but a natural teak wood pattern would give a natural look as you requested. More than the designs of the tiles, the points that I would suggest to take care of before choosing a pattern is 1. It should not be too dark as it will make the room look smaller 2. It can have a decent amount of texture finish, but shouldn't be over board as it will be a hindrance to walk freely and also cleaning would be a pain. 3 The thickness of the tile, many good companies be of standard quality 4. Easy availability of the tile, in case you have to replace the broken tiles, they should be easily available. About matching the floor with your walls and ceiling, do not replicate what is on the floor (color/pattern), instead go for something lighter in shades (wallpapers or paints) for walls and for ceiling you can consider the wooden theme PVC panels, which are available in multiple colors.
