Need help for bedroom
Comments (15)Hi, softyjane. You have a very pretty sheet set, and seem to like pink, so let's begin with a fresh coat of pink on all four walls. If someone can build you a little shelf to sit in the window, you could paint a basket, too, and put all your small items in it. Your food tray would make a nice picture background in the window. Then, some hooks on the right wall to hang your bags from will make things a bit roomier. White trim at the window will make it seem bigger, as well. If someone can do carpentry work for you, then you can create even more space by raising your bed high and making a loft bed with it. then you will have room below to put whatever you like - a chair, a desk, shelves - and place a curtain or bead strands in front for privacy. This is just to give some inspiration - yours will look special to your likes: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/5lDtTj0CQlo/0.jpg Hope that helps, and that you get the bedroom of your dreams!...See MoreNeed advice on room furniture ...
Comments (3)Typically, you want your bed to either be facing the entrance. As you do not have enough wall except the 10' wall, your head board and any night stands to go on that wall. It will allow for even a queen sized bed there. A queen sized bed measures 60" wide by 80" long. I would get a standard height bed. You should get the best bed you can afford. You need good sleep. People often go cheap on a bed. Better to go cheap on furniture, but get a good mattress. That will allow for 5 feet of wall for 2 nightstands (approx 2'long) or smaller if you choose. I'd put your desk on the wall with the TV. Not sure how big your TV is, but you should have plenty of room. What is Almira? Depending on what that is (dresser or wardrobe?) you should have enough room for some dresser with drawers on either of your 9' walls. Good luck....See MoreNeed help to change the furniture of this master bedroom
Comments (13)Unfortunately, I do not have a photo for you and have been unsuccessful in downloading my sketch. I think I can explain better what I meant. Your window behind the bed cannot be centered behind the bed and presently looks a little awkward. To remedy this, I suggested framing it with wood trim and creating another "fake" window alongside of it also using wood trim to frame it. Both the fake and the real window would get two rows of louvered shutters, a top row and a bottom row. Obviously, the lovers on the fake window would remain permanently closed. They are there only to give the illusion of another window. The shutters on the bottom half of the real window would remain closed, but the louvers would open to allow light and air. The top shutter could open to access opening and closing the window but most of the time, just have the louvers open for light and air. You will have created a bank of window that your bed could be centered under and I think it would look nice. I would use a headboard with wood or metal spindles that allow the light and air from the real window to pass through, yet give you something to prop pillows against. I must say though, if you did not want to do this, I love the recently added photo by Anne dee with white drapes, gray walls and some framed pictures that really help balance the awkward window. That was a beautiful room and looks a lot easier to accomplish than my idea. From your photos, I am not quite sure you have enough wall space to do it exactly like that, but I am sure you could experiment with the concept and come up with something lovely based on that idea....See Moreneed help for my living room
Comments (8)I assume that the pieces you have displayed in this corner are items that mean a lot to you. I remember being a newlywed and had to do solely with what I had on hand to make our house feel like our very own home. I added/replaced pieces a little at a time and finally completed the look I was envisioning. Below is my suggestion on how to get the items a bit more balanced to the eye. But in the end, I believe that the decors in your home all depends on how they make you feel in your heart when you look at them. The first one made use of some books and made sure the wall outlet was hidden within the wall shelf - assuming there is no constant need to use them. The second is an example where if you can buy only one piece to add, I suggest a piece to completely cover the outlet and take advantage of the conversational bubble style of the wall shelf. Have fun!...See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
