As others have said, it depends on the space. As a child I loved velvet flocked because it was so "touchable" LOL! In my extended family we tend to use the velvet flocked in dining rooms, the foil in bathrooms, and a high quality wallpaper in other rooms. The design is totally reliant upon the space it is being used in. In our Victorian farmhouse most of the rooms have the big roses or hydrangeas appropriate to the period. Cost is a factor also between papering and paint. 20 years ago, I painted and wallpapered everything myself. 10 years ago when I moved and bought a condo, I hired the papering and I did the painting. Last year when I downsized, my handyman and I just did the painting. No paper. I have found that at my age papering is too much for me. When I get down I can't get up and when I am up it feels too good to get down :>)

Hey Mandeep, So you can try to add the other color tiles to create patterns and design apart from just having another coloured tiles at the centre. HOWEVER, suppose we go with your idea of having other colour tiles in the centre - then how about these ideas: 1. Blue 2. Red & Orange or Red and Yellow -- but here the texture is important. 3. Dark green is another choice. 4. You can still use patterned tiles, if you can get good ones to create a carpet effect. How do they sound ? atom INTERIORS, Bangalore
