Tiles or laminated wood for bedroom flooring?
Comments (13)Just a little ceramic information to share as a potter. Vitrified simply means the clay has become glass like by being fired to its proper maturing temperature. Usually ceramic tile means it is a lower temperature clay like earthenware or terra cotta. Porcelain is fired to the highest temperature and is more vitrified if you will. This usually means it is less porous to to absorb water and harder. Low fired ceramics with glazes much darker or lighter than the clay body will show chips easier. Rectified has to do with making the edges precise enough to fit smoothly together for less grout lines. So porcelain cost more to produce but it is more sturdy. Comments (4)As others have said, it depends on the space. As a child I loved velvet flocked because it was so "touchable" LOL! In my extended family we tend to use the velvet flocked in dining rooms, the foil in bathrooms, and a high quality wallpaper in other rooms. The design is totally reliant upon the space it is being used in. In our Victorian farmhouse most of the rooms have the big roses or hydrangeas appropriate to the period. The dining room has a gold foil with red velvet (see below). Photo taken by my cousin....See MoreLiving room renovation
Comments (6)Most of the ceiling looks like veneer on plywood and the balance is plain gypsum . If so , then just polish the veneer either in the same shade of wood as your furniture or one tone darker or lighter . The gypsum ceiling can remain white . If the ceiling height is too low , do not go for a jhoomer but rather a simple mounted light. Good Lighting is key to any design to look good....See MoreWooden blinds vs pleated shades
