Kitchen table help
We are purchasing a new home and this is the kitchen. I would like to put an oval table pushed up against the right blank wall with three chairs for my kids. I’d like to put a hutch where they have the table now. The doorway to the left accesses the basement playroom which we will be using often and I don’t want chairs blocking the doorway.
I can’t decide what tone table would look best in the space. White table and wood chairs? Wood table and white chairs? What does everyone think?

Would something like this work do you think or go straight white without messing with another wood tone?

Comments (7)Another idea would be to draw the floorplan in scale on a piece of paper. Draw basic furniture on another paper and cut them out. Play with the furniture to see what could work for your family. Imagine yourself walking around in it (about 90cm wide walkways) and doing your daily business (hobbies and such). Comments (4)If I am having trouble finding a rectangle glass top table I usually order the glass from a local (to the location of my Client) glass shop and then the base from one of my furniture vendors. a dark table with your light chairs should not feel dark given that it is in a room with what looks to be lots of light with the large glass door and side window. I grew up playing in the house we are buying and I have distinct memories of not being able to get into the basement to play every time because the chairs blocked the door with people. I also just feel there is empty space on the right wall that can be used. I thought that the space is very rectangular and the round table and chairs would add nice visual interest. But I will reconsider all of this with your thoughts. This is what I had in mind (not exactly, just rough idea), and a hutch where the table originally was.
